Magnitude 6.6 earthquake jolted Izmir, Turkey destroying and damaging residential complexes and buildings. AFAD said the quake occurred at 2:51 pm local time at a depth of 16.54 km with the epicenter in the Aegean Sea. Tremors continued for 15 seconds and were felt in many provinces of western Turkey. At least six residential complexes were destroyed. Death toll from the quake climbed to 25. Over 800 people were injured.
