Orthodox Christians in Kazakhstan annually celebrate Christmas Day on or near January 7. This is not just another holiday in the calendar, it embodies the spiritual life of the country's population. Religious services are traditionally held at the Orthodox churches on this day. Due to the coronavirus pandemic this year the specific requirements for social distancing are in place. However, the Orthodox Christians can still come to the church and perform praying.
