16.03.2021 Year of COVID: What curbs were imposed in Kazakhstan
2092

March 2020 put Kazakhstan and its population to a test. On March 13, 2020 Kazakhstan confirmed the first cases of the coronavirus infection. The state of emergency was introduce on March 16. Since that day Kazakhstan has carefully monitored the situation with the coronavirus pandemic. Kazakhstanis have lived in the conditions of strict curbs which are still in place in some parts of the country. Schools and universities switched to the distance learning mode and many Kazakhstanis started working from home. Roadblocks, lack of pharmaceuticals, the Nationwide Mourning Day – due to these and other things 2020 will go down in history as the year of the coronavirus pandemic.
We do hope that the coronavirus infection will be gone for good soon. But at the same time we need to remember that our strength is in our unity. Only through joint efforts we can defeat the coronavirus infection. For this to happen it is crucial to observe the restrictions in place.
