An improvised orchestra consisting of 500 dombra players performed well-known musical pieces by Kazakh composer Kurmangazy next to the Baiterek monument in Astana.
They performed Saryarka, Adai and Balbyrauyn kuis. The youngest dombra player is 10 years old, the oldest one is 74.
One of the organizers of the flashmob Zhanargan Kuraluly said that all dobra players are from Astana. In his words, mostly students of the Kazakh National University of Arts, the Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the Agro-Technical University, and one of Astana musical schools for children took part in the flashmob.
