The Beauty of the Turgen Gorge

Up in the mountains of Zailiyskiy Alatau is a home of the Turgen River. Its swift waters flow amongst the peaks of the Turgen Gorge. The riverside is rich in coniferous forests, herbs and berries.
There is a lot to see in the Turgen Gorge from hot springs to a trout farm to waterfalls. Travelers and guests may find here an open-air historical and ethnographic museum and a statue of the Golden Man (Altyn Adam) from the Saka burial mound.
Fresh air and picturesque landscape made the Turgen Gorge one of the most popular places to visit. It is hard to image but this paradise is only 90 km from Almaty city.
