In the furtherance of Rukhani Janghyru Program, Astana city's Department for Languages Development and Archives conducted 'Abai Alemi' ('The World of Abai') literary-musical event timed to the birth anniversary of the great poet near the Abai Memorial.

The event began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Abai Memorial. The highlights were the musical performances by the Kazakh Orchestra of the State Academic Philharmonic of Astana and prominent kyuishi Aibek Bekbosyn, who performed an instrumental composition by Abai.

Young poets recited poems by Abai and their own works dedicated to the poet, experts studying Abai and intellectuals shared their thoughts on the great poet's life and work.
 
Representatives of the local intelligentsia, veterans, members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Astana Maslikhat (local representative body), leaders of the city, heads and representatives of government agencies, institutions and enterprises, educational institutions, civic associations and youth organizations, as well as residents and guests of the capital, were invited to the event dedicated to the anniversary of Abai Qunanbaiuly's birth.
 
The main objective of the event is to commemorate the Great Abai, make the younger generation familiar with the legacy of the poet, revealing the spiritual values and significance.
