“Totally 6,000 people have been evacuated from the flooding areas of the country and over 87,000 cattle withdrawn to safe locations. More than 3,000 people have been involved in works for elimination of flood implications in the dangerous areas. They are rescuers, police officers, National Guard military servants and employees of local executive authorities. 722 units of equipment are employed”, the Minister stated during a session of Kazakh Government. According to him, they have done a significant amount of work for immediate and engineering protection and erected 24,000 meters of temporary dykes, as well as deployed additional forces and equipment from Astana and Almaty cities and Zhambyl region to the emergency situation areas.
