The exposition “Pablo Picasso: Celestina and Vallauris Ceramics” dated to the Astana’s 20th anniversary was arranged by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Guests of residents of Astana city got a chance to get acquainted with Picasso’s rare ceramics and gravures.
Jars, plates, vases, fantastic birds and mythological creates, so bright and reminiscent of sunny landscapes of the south of France where the painter lived after the World War II.
In 1946, Picasso visited the annual ceramics exhibition in Vallauris and got so inspired by the visit that he created over 4,000 ceramic forms.
