Just days before the New Year’s Eve, the dwellers and guests of the capital stroll around the city amidst festive lights. On the left bank of the city, there are brightly illuminated skyscrapers, Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center, and the main New Year tree of the country is decorated with snowflake ornaments and colorful baubles at the site of the Expo 2017. Despite it is cold, everyone tries to spend time with kids, skating on the rink and sliding down the slopes in the ice town. The New Year tree is next to Nur Alem Pavilion.
 
 

Recall, the country’s main New Year tree lighting ceremony and the opening of the ice town located at the Expo 2017 Exhibition site took place on December 18.

This year, the theme of the town was Expo 2017 "Future Energy". Thus, there are copies of the Crystal Palace that was built for the Great Exhibition held in London's Hyde Park. As a gateway to the town, a 50-meter-long ice inscription “New Year 2018” was constructed.
